Gabriella Cassidy

Soprano

British soprano Gabriella Cassidy was raised in Jersey, and trained at the Wales International Academy of Voice, the Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music.

Gabriella made her English National Opera debut as Gilda Rigoletto and returned to the company for further appearances as Violetta La traviata, Miss Schlesen in Philip Glass’s Satyagraha and Eurydice Orpheus in the Underworld.

She also appears regularly with Diva Opera, performing in South Africa, Japan, France and across the UK, in roles including Konstanze Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi Cosi fan tutte, Elvira L’Italiana in Algeri, Violetta La traviata, Norina Don Pasquale, and Donna Anna Don Giovanni, as well as Gianetta L'elisir d'amore and Gilda Rigoletto. She has also covered Lady Macbeth Macbeth for Mid Wales Opera and covers Violetta La traviata for Garsington Opera this summer, also appearing in the role for the company's OperaFirst performance with the Philharmonia.

Other roles include the soprano role in Green Eggs and Ham for Opera North, Romilda Serse at the RNCM and in concert at the Iford Arts Festival, and The Girl Handel Furioso (Grimeborn Festival). In concert, her appearances include Vivaldi Gloria, Purcell Come Ye Sons of Art, Mozart Requiem, Rutter Requiem, Handel Messiah, Bach Cantatas at the RNCM and Handel Cantatas at The Foundling Museum (Handel Institute).

Originaire de Jersey, la soprano britannique Gabriella Cassidy s’est formée à la Wales International Academy of Voice à Cardiff, au Royal Northern College of Music de Manchester (RNCM) et à la Chetham’s School of Music à Manchester.

En concert, elle chante, entre autres, le Gloria de Vivaldi, Come ye sons of art de Purcell, le Requiem de Mozart, le Requiem de Rutter, le Messie de Haendel, une série de cantates de Bach au RNCM et des cantates de Haendel au Foundling Museum à Londres (Institut Haendel).

Elle a fait ses début à l’English National Opera (ENO) dans Gilda Rigoletto, puis y a doublé les rôles de Queen Tye Akhnaten et de Hanna Glawari La Veuve Joyeuse. Elle a également chanté Konstanze Die Entführung aus dem Serail pour une tournée européenne de Diva Opera, ainsi qu’au Japon ; et pour la même compagnie, Elvira L’Italiana in Algeri, Norina Don Pasquale, Barbarina Le Nozze di Figaro et Kate Pinkerton Madama Butterfly. Parmi ses autres rôles, Romilda Serse au RNCM et en concert au Iford Arts Festival, ainsi que The Girl Handel Furioso (Grimeborn Festival).

Plus récemment, elle a chanté Eurydice Orphée aux Enfers à l’ENO, et la partie de soprano dans Green Eggs and Ham pour Opera North. Elle est retourné à l’ENO pour Miss Schlesen dans Satyagraha de Philip Glass, puis a chanté Donna Anna Don Giovanni pour Diva Opera, et la partie de soprano dans Green Eggs and Ham pour Opera North à Leeds.

En 2022, elle a été réinvintée par Diva Opera pour Fiordiligi Cosi fan tutte avec des représentations en Afrique du Sud, au Royaume-Uni et en France ; elle chante à l’été 2023 Gianetta L’elisir d’amore et Gilda Rigoletto pour la même compagnie.
